The Stonewall Riots-in protest of an authorities raid at Stonewall Inn, a homosexual club in Greenwich community, on June 28, 1969-sparked the current action for LGBTQ liberties, along with advocacy for any legalization of gay bars as well as the business of earliest Ny pleasure March (subsequently referred to as Christopher Street Liberation time March).

This sculpture at Christopher Park, opposite the historic Stonewall Inn, recognizes the gay rights action and commemorates the happenings at Stonewall. One NYC Dyke March
