Saturday

Currently on the plane to Cusco! I am sooooooo excited! As predicted, yesterday was a long one. Saying bye to Blaine broke my heart. It’s going to be a month until I get to see him again. :(. Sarah and I did fine with the traveling until we hit La Paz. Even the awful line and no help at the immigration in Santa Cruz did not get us down. But when we arrived in La Paz and decided to get a hotel for the night we went to the ATM. I got money out, Sarah got money out, and while we were chatting about hotels, her card was sucked back into the machine and was no where to be found. Now, I realize this is a sort of protection for us, but it is a huge pain In the ass. We were unable to find anyone willing to help us in the beginning. And as good as my Spanish is getting again, on the phone conversations are still really difficult. We had to call the number on the machine to retrieve the card. Apparently this is a regular thing. Well, we had a flight today and that was not going to work. Enter the god send. A man and his son who spoke fabulous English took the time to call for us and check with the company. His friend is the CEO of the bank and he made a personal call to him to ask what could be done. We were informed there was no other choice but to cancel the card. They then proceeded to make sure we found a safe hotel since all the cabs had left during the fiasco while they gave us a tour of the city. They even carried our bags for us and made sure the hotel knew what time we had to be at the airport today! They spent their first night back together in awhile helping a couple of scared, sad American girls. I must say it is people like them that inspire me. We will be at Machu Pichu in 2 days. I’m so excited. Miss Blaine already. Wish he was here for this.

2 week gap! Oops!

Okay so I’m trying again. I proceeded to start writing a blog last night but i wasnt happy with the turn out. So here we go again!

We are all (Blaine, Trina, and I) sitting at the boat dock, just arriving from Iguazu, on a 17 hour bus ride. Yes, a 17 hour bus ride! These buses are however, much nicer then most planes! Our boat doesn’t leave until 3pm and it’s 9am. lol going to be a long day! Were off to Uruguay! P.S.

I am going to try and start where I left off in Brazil, however only focusing on the main points or I will be writing all day! 🙂 I guess at this point is doesn’t matter, as I’ll have all day to write. 🙂

On our last days in Rio, Trina and I took a 3 day trip to a place called paraty, which was a small village town on the beach. The weather wasn’t up to par (rainy/cloudy), but it was still a great time! We got pampered with a spa day, which was much needed! Thank you Blaine!! Ahhh that was great! We both got a little sick while in Paraty, a result of me eating dairy and trine being dehydrated, oh and due to the fact that we drank the largest margarita ever made! I hope that’s the only time we get sick, because being sick while living in hostels is no bueno!
